Considering the possible age, the charger/plate is in excellent used condition. It appears that it has always been a display piece and has no chips, cracks or scratches.

The Charger measures 5 cm high and 32 cm in diameter.

Great care is taken when packaging and shipping all fragile items.

Recycled packaging is used wherever possible.

Henry Hatton Beck (1901-1986) was born in Cassilis, Victoria. After an adventurous youth, he set up a pottery studio and kiln in Oakleigh, and established a working relationship with Merric Boyd in nearby Murrumbeena. During the 1930's, Hatton worked in commercial potteries in Melbourne. In 1938, he married Lucy Boyd and set up the Altamira Pottery in Murrumbeena. In 1943, they sold the pottery to Arthur Boyd and, in 1948, moved to Brisbane where a Hatton taught pottery at the Central Technical College. In 1961, they moved back to Victoria, where Hatton continued to teach and to make and to make pottery until his mid eighties. Hatton painted or incised his post war work ''Beck'. {Australian Potter Marks)

This piece has Hatton's signature down on the bass of the Charger Plate- 'Beck'.(Australian Pottery at Bemboka)
